There is no MIT version available for 1.8. It's unlikely to ever become available for 1.8. If MIT is really important to you, we could point you to the tickets that need to get closed to make that happen (involves removing third-party GPL2 code from core)
Evan, do you have a complete list? I would be interrested in such list as well.
Evan, the list would be helpful. Thanks.
These are the primary blockers:
Please check pull request fixing ticket #3468: https://github.com/Elgg/Elgg/pull/348
Those tasks would take probably approx. 9 hours to fix. I can ask a developer to work on them next week, they can be ready by 10'th. Michael, maybe you could take some part of work as well? As I understand, those are all and only blockers for MIT?
I'm also interrested in MIT version of 1.8. Maybe I can help with coding.
Jeff, I will contact you via PM.
Evan, I've read about tasks you listed and it seems only those three are blocking MIT version:
Evan, is this correct, are those the only blockers? If those three tasks are the only blockers, we can start working on them, possibly with Jeff's and Michael's help.
Evan, could you please confirm wether those are all MIT blockers? I don't want to start working on those tasks just to be informed after a week that our work won't be enought.
Mike, the only two non-MIT pieces of code in Elgg are autop and the xml code. I think both Steve Clay and Brett have worked on autop but I don't know the status of their work.
Beyond that, we would need to review all the libraries that Elgg bundles and check that they are MIT compatible.
