You must log in to post replies. You wouldn't have to directly modify core files but you would extend core views instead. Take a look at the Google Adsense Modern Elgg plugin (https://elgg.org/plugins/2208299). Maybe this plugin even works on Elgg 3 as it is. Otherwise, you could update it on your own if necessary. See the views that are extended in start.php of this plugin. The views they are getting extended with are the views where the adsense code is included. This plugin allows to insert the adsense id via its plugin settings. As Elgg 3 has a slightly different page layout it might be necessary to adjust the banner dimensions slightly. Just test the plugin yourself.
thanks for replying iionly
I've already used the plugin but it does not work with elgg 3
I do not have the experience of editing with add-ons. Can you tell me where I can place ad code?
Our premium plugin works on Elgg 3 as well
Thanks for replying RvR
I think it's such an add-on https://elgg.org/plugins/2208299 Also this addition works, but not fully, it shows the ads within topics such as blogging but the rest of the site does not show it also there is a code in Google ads compatible code that controls the ads on the site automatically so I know what files I am modifying it
Our plugin IS NOT https://elgg.org/plugins/2208299
You can view how it works on these websites: https://pw.wzm.me http://elgghacks.com https://nas.wzm.me
Your plugin looks good and really different but I would use Google Adsense automatic code
You should add these parameters in the plugin's settings only:
- your Publisher ID
- Ad units for page and sidebar
That's all.
You don't need to copy-and-paste any ad code.
You will free to configure the ad's format (e.g. "Responsive", "display:block;width:100%;height:auto;" etc) as you want.
All options are available via settings.
Ask me using private message if you have any question about this plugin.
P.S. We can help you to configure the purchased plugin w/o additional fees.
