I'm trying to install elgg 2.3.9 and I get the above message while on step 4. Configure Site...does anyone know how I could possible fix the problem? thanks in advance!

You must log in to post replies.Yes, the solution is simple and self explanatory. http://localhost/files/ is NOT an absolute path. Provide an absolute path and it will be fixed. This has been discussed here many times.
If your OS is Windows then your absolute path will look like C:/the/path/to/your/folder/files
If your OS is Linux then then your absolute path will look like /the/path/to/your/folder/files
How to Install Elgg:
Whew thanks I kept writing "file:///C://" and taking the "file:///" part off worked.
