Hello..i am running nginx on Centos 7 with wget instead of get and am not sure how to alter the provided crontab info at http://learn.elgg.org/en/stable/admin/cron.html. Location of LWPR='/usr/bin/lwp-request' is correct but not sure about the changes to GET for wget. I am presuming the info once correct goes into the root crontab file. My Vestacp crontab is called admin and it handles all the crons from vesta so not sure which to use.

You must log in to post replies.I would setup cron inside VestaCP if you're not too familiar using terminal.
I use terminal to set up crons regularly but the example in the doics is not a straight cron job it is a block setting to call from I believe and vesta only allows single lines not the extra lines elgg calls for...just a example of using wget instead of get would work I believe
I need to find this out so I can use the Backup Tool plugin https://elgg.org/plugins/1329896 Maybe I can just run one cronjob ...I don;t know but he specifies that you need to set up that block from the instructions to use it.
I have to say Vesta already does a daily backup of all files in the domain at midnight so I don't know if I should bother with the other as I can just download the tar file and keep it on hand every day on my own.
In case anyone is interested I found this on how to make website and dbase backups every night automatically and then offload them to another server for safe keeping
