I am getting the above listed error whenever I try to log in. This issue started few days back. Everything was working fine before that.
I have already tried the following fix:
I am using elgg 1.10.4 (PHP 5.4.44), Hosted at Arvixe.

It appears to be your landing page. After I get that message there is a another login page that is presented. I was able to log in with demo and demo123.
Did you add or update that page a few days back?
@Dan - Even if you go to that another page directly and try to login from there.. it will show you the error again for the 1st attempt. No matter which page you are logging in from, it will show the error on the 1st attempt.
No, I didn't made any changes to the website for the past couple of months.
Whatever it was appears to be fixed. I just tried logging in at http://www.campuskarma.in/ with demo and demo123 and I was logged in without getting the error.
Well that is strange, because I just logged in and it showed me the error.
i have just logged in and i got same error .
i am wonder why its redirect me to another login page when i am trying to login on www.campuskarma.in. First its redirect me on another login page and i had insert login details once again thus i have to enter log-in details twice
That's exactly what my problem is. It was working fine few days back and all of a sudden it started showing this error.
Anyone from Arvixe here who can help me with this?
https://elgg.org/profile/rjcalifornia contact this guy :)
That is indeed strange. I just tried again and the error came up using Firefox. I thought I would try Internet Explorer and Chrome, the error also comes up in both of them as well.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
I just confirmed this happens. However after trying a second time, it didn't show that error. Looks like there's a problem with the .htaccess rewrite configuration, as reported previously:
