With the current planning Elgg 2.0 will get a feature freeze in July 2015. Would there be developers interested in a hackathon somewhere in June to work on getting as much done for 2.0 in a few days? I thought maybe we could rent a house somewhere (Central Germany) for 2 or 3 nights and meetup with other developers. Just a braindump, but if more people like this idea (and would attend such a 'hackathon') just leave a comment

+1
Does all "+1" mean "i will participate"?
@pawel
i hope so ;) for me it does!!!!
I love the idea, can't commit to it though, Germany is a long way away...
I could probably join, but IMHO we can do a 24 hour virtual one. Bet most people are more productive at their workplace.
I'm very close to Germany, but not really see being able to commit to several days coding session, virtual one however would be cool thing to try with ppl on eastern hemisphere. Could be good prelude to doing the real one, to see what really we want to accomplish and how to coordinate work on such event.
I already heard this history hackathon
what does hackathon mean?
hacking + marathon = hackathon
Basically means one shared really long coding session
