Concerned about the Search Engine Google's last announcements about if your site is not cell phone and tablet friendly, then say good bye to that particular internet /app traffic. I checked the link to http://elgg.org/index.php and the results are exactly the same of my website:
Reasons this page is not mobile-friendly
Text too small to read
Mobile viewport not set
Links too close together.
You can try yourself and see what I'm talking about: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/ Check your site.
How can we fix this major mobile problem and get the cell phones traffic to reach our sites?
Other than installing plugins that don't work and make the site even slower on the results.
I Appreciate your friendly response about solutions and ideas. My website is ( The American Social Networks. )

You must log in to post replies. This isn't a systemic problem, each theme is different. Every theme that Arck does for their clients is responsive, as of 1.9 Elgg ships with Aalborg theme which is responsive.
If your theme isn't responsive then make it so or find one that is.
Aalborg theme is responsive, cell phone and tablet friendly. I tried it on several devices.
Even better, all our themes are mobile friendly!
BTW Google giving a better ranking to HTTPS sites.
The site at http://elgg.org/ is NOT using Elgg. This community however IS build on Elgg and it's using the responsive Aalborg theme. Enter https://community.elgg.org/ to the validator and the tests will pass.

An embarrassing fact that we really should fix...
@ewinslow Why? My opinion is http://elgg.org/ must remain landing page. But https://community.elgg.org should be presented as 'Elgg open source SNE'
Thanks for the link. I tested my new site and it came back "Awesome! This page is mobile-friendly."

I love the elgg software btw...my site has only been up about a week and I learned this package very quickly. BTW...i am using the mobilize plugin on the aalborg theme
@ RJ (Arvixe) The index page of your varva theme is not mobile friendly as per google: "Not mobile friendly. content wider than screen" ;-(
