Hi, this is my first post. I did search in various ways for the functionality I require but found that the plugins mentioned do not exist any longer. Here are my requirements with regard to Administration. I have implemented Elgg 1.9.7 on Linux, no core modifications (like I could anyway) and very few 3rd party plugins applied.
Admin
-Complete control, as it is currently.
Super User/Moderator:
-Can delete/update/approve any NON-admin user.
-No access to system-critical functions (update.php, etc)
-Ability to administer groups, pages, etc.
If this functionality exists, please kindly point me to the right location. If the ability is coming in the future, please let me know. I can limp by without it.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. I'm new to Elgg, php, css, web hosting, etc. But I'm trying! :)
Thank you

Thanks for the reply!
The Roles plugin indicates an Elgg 1.8 requirement. I understood that to be exact, not a minimum requirement. Will a 1.8 plugin work with 1.9.7?
The answer is 'maybe'
It will work in the sense that you can enable it and test it out. Whether it actually works bug-free depends on the plugin. I think roles just might work in 1.9 as-is.
The test I did with Roles did work on 1.9
Didn't test the groupadmin and moderators addons though, but I expect them to work as well.
Hehehe "maybe" :)
The dba in me cringes...but the developer in me says, "sally forth!"
Thank you for your help. I'll give the plugins a try.
