Hello,
I want to filter/to custome the river. How can I make that all activitiies from avatar (upload and crop) and friends (join someone) are not displayed ?
I found that for the 1.8 but I want to make the same thing for the 1.9. I want to include this in my template.
Thanks.

I found this for the 1.8 (http://elgghacks.com/disable-profile-update-in-riverdashboard/). But I want to do this for the 1.9 and I want to overwrite the orginal files in a plugin. How can I do it ?
Register the page handler for "activity" and use your own (renamed) copy of _elgg_river_page_handler(). Note you must also make your own copy of pages/river.php. In your copy, you can make any changes to $options you need.
(there's work in progress to make this kind of thing much easier)
Ok. Great!
But is it a way to do it before it works.
Hello,
I come back to have some news about this issue. Any news?
Thanks.
Here's an example how to prevent certain actions from appearing in the river. This prevents only new friends, but the same approach can be used for any activity:
Register a plugin hook handler: https://github.com/Elgg/community_customizations/blob/1.8/start.php#L19
And here you can find the handler, which tells Elgg to prevent the creation: https://github.com/Elgg/community_customizations/blob/1.8/start.php#L94
So basically you return false for any activities you don't want to add to the river.
Ok. Thanks. So I can make a plugin if I want?
Is it correct?
I'm not sure it is working. I made a plugin and I have always the entries on the river.
Ok. I use this as a plugin and It is working. I certainly do an error.

I just have to simplify it.
Thanks.
