We are international but the official language for our community is English, so a lot of members are running a spell checker with their browser.
This worked fine when we were using phpbb but it doesn't work on our Elgg installation and I can see it working on this site as well.
Can someone help me, so I can help our members please?

You must log in to post replies.I just noticed, it seems like it is only some places that doesn't have spell check, like discussions in groups when editor is turned on.
It's the tinymce editor included in the bundled tinymce plugin of Elgg 1.8 that interferes with the browsers spellchecker (or in other words the tinymce editor is not configured for spellchecking). Try it with the extended tinymce plugin (https://community.elgg.org/plugins/782028/Elgg_1.8_4.1.2_r42/elgg-1819-extended-tinymce). It contains a much more recent version of the tinymce editor and especially spellchecking is enabled.
@iionly thanks for the tip. I always wondered why the spell checker didn't work.
