Was trying out Elgg-1.8.19, all was going smooth but got stuck up in Group Part. Want to have Group feature where user can create groups. Below images might give light on issue. To be more specific how to add "Group plugin" refer below image(red highlighted) . Image --> http://i.stack.imgur.com/qAWMe.jpg . Any help would really appreciated. Thanks . Have also put it at stack overflow https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24146473/not-able-to-add-group-feature

You must log in to post replies. You have to enable the groups plugin first before being able to enable the Group UX plugin. The groups plugin comes bundled with Elgg. Additionally, the group_tools plugin is suggested (not required). The group_tools plugin can be downloaded at http://community.elgg.org/plugins/736791/2.10/group-tools.
still issue exist check the image http://i.stack.imgur.com/trDmp.jpg.
Steps.
- downloaded group-tools
- added it in mod folder
- in admin panel went to plugin
thanks
You need to enable the bundled "Groups" plugin in the admin panel first. Have you done this? Do you see the Groups plugin in the list of plugins installed?
No am not seeing "Groups" plugin, have flitered with "all plugin". Am looking for Group plugin in Admin--->plugins(http://localhost/elgg-1.8.19-mit/admin/plugins). Is their any other location to enable "group"?. And have not enabled it.Thanks
You have installed the MIT version of Elgg (by mistake?). The MIT version comes without bundled plugins. Go to http://elgg.org/download.php and download the GPLv2 version of Elgg (clicking on the big "Dowload 1.8.19" button and NOT following the "Download 1.8.19 MIT version" link).
It should work to simply copy the GPL version of Elgg over the installed MIT version. The only difference is the missing plugins in the MIT version. After you have done this you should see the "bundled" plugins of Elgg in the plugin list. Enable them and you should be okay.
Oh , yes i had downloaded from Home page(elgg.org) and i suppose they provide MIT version their. Now issue resolved, added the "Group" plugin from GNU version to present working MIT version. Thanks and Enjoy
