Hello
I was wondering if there was any way to display the items in the tools menu in a box on the dashboard, e.g. under the "New Wire Post" box when using the river dashboard?
The reason I ask is I think this would be more intuitive for users instead of having to go to the "Tools" menu every time they wanted to do something.
Is this possible?
Cheers

cute - u r getting the drift ;-O
Thanks, Dhrup.
I like this because, the user profile and user tools all neatly organized. it's now obvious the tools will take you to your tools. If a member wants to see all of the other members "tools" there needs to be another obvious menu for that. Again though, this is the best scenario for my site.
I'm not a fan of keeping key navigation hidden, but I wasn't a big on the Tools drop down either. What I did instead on our network was make some simple CSS changes that drops the Tools underneath the main navigation. I'm happy to share the CSS if anyone wants to adopt something similar.
Thats a good idea also. You should have it list all the options for the others like that.
Home (world views)
->Members | Photos | ETC....
Profile (member views)
->My Profile | My Photos | My ETC...
Settings
-> Settings | Configure Tools | ETC....
Administrator
-> Stats | Site | Users | Tools | ETC...
thissounds to be a wonderful idea... i had to manually code those links in my site...since many users did not like or even look at the tools link..
it wound be wonderful is its directly there in a code which will pull links and instead of a tools menu to the side bar tpye shown in tht link.. and also can be reordered on the basis of the reordering of the mods in the tools admin...
@johnnyspade You did a great outlook for the site.
Will it be possible to share the CSS?

tools in side-bar
tools at to-bar
tools at top
tools everywhere
-- there *is Elgg code on site which pulls the tools menu links to the top in a row - next to the hddrs - it's in the "views" not html as the 1st sidebar does.
Css hack would simply need to reposition the ul.topbardropdownmenu ul li a { and redecorate attributes for the child elements' which are the menu items.
