Hi! At first I have to apologize for my English. Now I will explain my problem:
I'm making my final degree job, an OpenSocial based application. Now that I get used to XML, JavaScript and the OpenSocial API, I'd like to know its possibilities as a future elgg application. When I finish my application is there a way to convert it for its use in an elgg platform?
I know that exists an opensocial widget for elgg but I have a problem. When I write the URL with the XML of the application (a probe one) it doesn't work (Invalid XML document).
Is there another way to make this conversion? If not, is there any tutorial to start getting used with elgg and it's app development world?
Lots of thanks!
Pablo

You must log in to post replies.(1) "Invalid XML document" means exactly that -- your XML xode is "invalid"
(2) I did a test with Elgg's OpenSocial container some while ago - but I think I accidently deleted all my code ;-( I had copied the Hello World gadget from google to see how that would work inside Elgg - tests were ok.
Ok. Thanks for your opinion, but when I posted this problem, is because my app is very simple (not hello world but simillar) and it's perfectly working on my Ning Platform for example.
Hi Pablo,
Please read the docs that come with the OpenSocial plugin. The OpenSocial plugin uses the Shindig OpenSocial library and supports OpenSocial 0.7 only. The last time I looked, Ning was using an older version of OpenSocial that is mostly not compatible with 0.7.
OpenSocial is a new and rapidly evolving standard (the latest version is 0.8 actually) .

On my gadget I'm using 0.7 just because Ning is now using it, so this is not the problem. Lots of thanks anyway.
I'll have an eye on this documents and on that url. Thanks to both of you!
