After going through some free host, I found this to be the best one. The installation was smooth, the pages were fast-loading.
They will put a link of their host at bottom of every single page and some Google ads.
So far, I have noticed two problems.
1) The notification messages ("You have successfully enabled your plug-in") cannot be dismissed. But, reloading of pages fix it.
2) The Google ads of the host hides the 'Updated' button of the HTML pop-up window of the TinyMCE Editor.
The host is good enough for the free-bies.

You must log in to post replies.Ins spite of smooth installation and all that, I get some other errors as well.
Like, the profile-edit drop-down menus are not shown, set-default widgets page for administrators shows nothing.
OK, I'd like to withdraw my recomendation for this site.
Has anyone else tried it before?
I will personally recommend you http://3elgghosting.co.cc
It is the best & its free. I have already set up 3 elgg there so that i can test some plugins before i put them on my production site.

Also, if you have a Elgg site, hosted on Site Frost, could you please give me the URL.
Thanks for the recomendation! The offer's REALLY tempting!
Hi Gurudas. I m running my elgg site on that hosting. everything went correct until the system settings. Whenever I save the details on system settings, it says your data directory is not writable.I am using the data directory out of root directory and given full write permission i.e chmod 777.Plz suggest me for this as you have been running sites on 3elgghosting.co.cc
