Hi,
I had a user assigned as an admin (not the original admin) to make this easier to explain i'll call them "SubAdmin"
SubAdmin deleted a user in a group that had made comments - Elgg has assigned the deleted users to the "SubAdmin" but the pages that the user commented on now only shows those comments the deleted user made and gives a fatal error... :( error below....
Fatal error: Call to a member function getURL() on a non-object in /home/public_html/info/views/default/annotation/generic_comment.php on line 36
Admin can't delete the comment or the page - just a dead page now...
I have the garbage collector and cron trigger on - I also ran the upgrade.php but nothing fixes this.
Any help? Thank you!

You must log in to post replies. What version and when did you download it certainaly sounds like a bug to me (a big one)
I just downloaded 1.6 and installed today, first page I created returned the following upon save. Back at the pages menu, it shows the page, but clicking on the page link returns the same error.
Fatal error: Call to a member function getURL() on a non-object in /mod/pages/views/default/pages/pageprofile.php on line 76
I have already searched the site, found some information here, it means nothing to me. Does this say I need a new version of /engine/lib/metastrings.php ?

Never mind; I just went into the database and deleted anything with the same guid and now it seems to work fine.
Michael - the 1.7 version will contain the fix for that bug. It only happens on rare occurrences on the first page created.
