I am trying to make the Activity Feeds appear on the home page and it appears that it doesnt want to appear.
I don't wish to use any plugins to control my home page as I am content with the front page I have, I just want the feed to work correctly.
Does anyone have a solution for this please?

What is the point in making all these fancy ideas come through when not event the basics have been sorted out, you ask endlessly and search endlessly and then when you think you are getting somewhere you get left in the lurch.
This is a really nice and slick piece of kit, but please get the basics right before rushing off and creating fancy mods.
1. Get the home page working accurately first and foremost.
2. If you are going to create a mod that will allow the home page to be altered, leave the option there to keep the original format and not move everything around.
use the code,
echo elgg_view_river_items(0, 0, '', '', '', '',20,0,0,false);

Where am I supposed to put this code?
A little more info would be appreciated TW... ;-)
Put the code here if you do not want to use any template like mine SocialPro which comes out of the box with the site activity on the homepage.
