I have a plugin I wrote to auto join new members to a State group based on the input they provide during profile update.
As far as the functions of the plugin everything works great, members and groups are joined every time, but with the plugin enabled all of my sites Icons disappear into the little red X...
I read somewhere that this could be caused by UTF-8 BOM and when I first wrote the code I did use MS word so I went back and rewrote it all using the editor in cpanel to make sure but still have the problem.
I built this plugin along the same lines as the plugin autosubscribegroups where the code is in the start.php file, and I'm not sure if 1.7 has a problem with that since it requires security tokens, but I would love to hear some ideas about what could be causing my Icons to dissapear.
As always Thanks to everyone who is stepping me through this learning curve

You must log in to post replies. If your icons are referenced like <img src="...../actions/...."> then you have to pass in security parameters.
Hello Dan
The new plugin I wrote doesn't do anything with the Icons so I'm really confused why it messes them up,,, I mean all I do is enable the plugin and all Icons go away,,,,, my profile Icon,,,, the group Icons I have uploaded every thing,,,,, what might be a work around????
BTW I'm really new to php and elgg and I'm finding that I have a hugh learning curve LOL
It might help to isolate the url of the site icons you'd like to see; i.e., look at the page source and identify where you're referencing the icon. Copy that url into your browser and see if it can load it.
You're not the only one new to elgg :)
LOL yeah well I've been writing code,,, although a differant type of code for about 30 years now and elgg plus php is real humbling grin, fill like a dumba$$ alot lately lol
As for a sampling of the source of my page which dissapears this is what I have:
this only a small sample because every Icon on my site turns into the red X
Doesn't seem to be a url issue. Did you download the developer tools plugin?
Hello Again
Orginally I just built the plugin creating folders and files through cpanel,,, but today I started thinking about that and enabled the developer tools and rebuilt the plugin,,,,
After doing that now the icons disappear and I get an error on page message when the plugin is enabled
