If the load on a database becomes too high, it will reject connection attempts. This is, of course, a bigger deal on a server that is strapped for resources.
but i only have 40 users.. because that i dont think it strap the server. At the same server i have my other community with 1600 users and i had no problems :/
Actually, the error can happen when almost no one is using the site. Sometimes when a search engine crawler hits the site for the first time, it can really hammer a site and that can overload the database.
It's also possible that your database got in a bad state and was restarted by your hosting company when you reported the issue. Tough to tell from the limited information.
I will do, thnks Cash!
(Great Elgg Developer Tools hehe)
