Please spend some time with the Elgg wiki. It has a lot of great resources. Look for the page on changing wording. http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/Category:Administration_FAQ
Is possible to add some additional fields in the page of the group or some advance editor?
@Cash --- I have gone through the docs on http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/Category:Administration_FAQ but could not get anything on how to add fields in a page. how could i do that???
@Cash I need advance page with some additional fields specially in group page.Is it possible to cutomize?
It is not trivial, but not extremely difficult either. You would have to override the edit form of the pages plugin and create a new action to save those extra fields.
@Cash Can you explain it elaborately how to do that? I really need to add some additional fields in group pages. Is there any mod?
Can you help me?
Thank you.
Here's an example of what you might be looking for. I'm sure quite a few people have bent a twisted the Groups PlugIn to have addtional custom features. This one adds certain additional fields to allow academics and Post-Graduate students to interact using the Groups' facilities but for the single purpose of exchanging information relevant to the Instructor/ Student relationship. The only "elaborate" which might be really offered for guidance would be that one must expect to roll up your sleeves and be prepared for some decent code development ;-)
@Dhruva How to do that customization? I want these features. Can you help me?
i think the answer was already given above " override the edit form of the pages plugin and create a new action to save those extra fields.." there's no "cookbook" for elgg which says " do this, that.. and you'll have a new plugin.." the key must lie in being able to manage the code changes required to tweak the input views and the corresponding actions to capture and store the extra data. it might take a few hours of code development or maybe longer, depending on coding ability - "expect to roll up your sleeves and be prepared for some decent code development.." ;-)
i'am trying to do the codes... i will let u know if i could do it. As for now if there is come help available then please let me know... thanx
