Hello All,
I have a website that has city pages(plugin i created based on groups plugin)...there are 2 things i would like to do:
1. Auto complete the search box with city names.
2. If a blog post contains a city name..i would like to create a link to the city page..
I am not sure how autocomplete works..i mean where does it look for the words(to compare) file. If needed, i could create that file by hand..but ideal would be if it is created from database.
For part 2, if someone could recommend a Jquery plugin..it would be great.
Thanks
Appreciate all the help!

You must log in to post replies.There are quite a few autocomplete plugins out there. Personally I recommend Liran Tal's autocomplete facebook style.
It's easy to adapt to any plugin and can also be adapted to the searchbar as well. Read the instructions on how to do it.
Part 2: I'm not sure how to do this myself, I'm only a novice coder.
Good luck!
JQuery is a very good way to go and in line with the Elgg way of using JQuery as the Javascript libraries.
You can find more info here;

The jQuery autocomplete plugin that Sam linked to has been added to jquery UI 1.8, btw.
