loginbyemail plugin is not compatible with the new version
in loginbyemail this in start.php:
register_action("login",false,$CONFIG->pluginspath . "loginbyemail/actions/login.php");
should be changed to this:
register_action("login",true,$CONFIG->pluginspath . "loginbyemail/actions/login.php");
the plugin required some additional modifications, I will upload it to community later today
upload_max_filesize vs. post_max_size settings in php.ini?
When uploading a file via file plugin the limit is set by post_max_size and not upload_max_filesize. This is kind of confusing. Additionally, it's complicated to set proper limits for example for multi-file uploads in general. Shouldn't the smaller number limit the maximum size?
post_max_size is a cap on the total amount of POSTed data. upload_max_filesize only limits the total amount of uploaded file data.
So if you have a post_max_size of 30M and an upload_max_filesize of 20M, you cannot upload a file of size 25M.
I had both post_max_size and upload_max_filesize set to 20M. But that was causing a problem with izap_videos when uploading a video file <20 MB that gets converted into a FLV file >20MB. So it set
upload_max_filesize to 20M and
post_max_size to 40M
But now it's possible to upload files >20M to the files section (core plugin). Tested in Elgg 1.7.2beta, too.

And also, using call_user_func(_array) for event systems (instead of the primitive $eventfunction() style calls).
@a110y - both good points. The call_user_func change is already queued up for Elgg 1.8. The mysql_query issue should be reported as a bug using the bug tracker: http://trac.elgg.org/
Thanks again for the reports.
@gillie Thanks! Works like a charm!
