This is on a new install of 1.7.1, users are getting their emails but the admin is not getting the new user notifcation emails. They are not getting junked, they just dont show up. But an email to confirm an account comes just fine, even with the same host. Should this work by default or was there a module I should have installed.

New user registration notification emails to the Admin ?? Does Elgg send this ?
I've never seen one. I use the standard uservalidationbyemail and when a user registers they get the mail with the confirm link and then another after they successfully complete registration. I personally wouldn't want an email every time a new user registered!
so.... what are you complaining about ? lolz;;;;;-) a non-existent feature ;-?
Could be added easily with a plugin. Or the admin could just watch the RSS feed on the members page through an RSS aggregator.
i was not "complaining" about anything, i was just told this was a feature and I guess its not.
yep ! Admin not need no confirm emails b/c he da boss and already knows ;-)
Check for the siteaccess plugin, which has got the admin notification option when a new user registers.
