Is there a plugin that will allow only selected users to blog such as a site mentor(s) I don't need or want the see the ramblings of everyone. We would use this for teaching. If not no big deal, I can make Pages as a substitute for Blogs.

You must log in to post replies.Elgg doesn't currently allow for permission controls on this level (at least not easily). Elgg 1.8 will have the necessary hooks.
Good I am going to need them!
Evan, can we somehow remove the blog menu and then make it available only to certain members? I will only have a few blows and they will be linked by special links from main page and vazco topbar, removing blow owners menu should keep out most from ever knowing its there.
Even if you remove the link from the topbar or wherever you mean, anyone can still post new blog posts by hitting the link on the addressbar manually.
I have some idea of implementing such permission-level and I am working on it.
@Shouvik Awesome! :-)
@Shouvik Did you ever tinker with the permission levels for a blog?
