HostingMotive. I have seen that Elgg can be installed there ... they even have the softaculous auto-installer.
However, I don't know how fast your production site would be with more content and activity. :P
Agree with Evan. Install locally. Freehosts are just a waste of time for Elgg.

I agree with Evan and Cash. Althouth you can install Elgg on the free hosts, it is highly unlikely to be capable of handling a production site.
You could try some demo installation ... but then again, you can always use your local servers to test Elgg and your codes. Why put it on web?
@evan...once i develop the site locally is it just copy and place the code on to server ??
or else is there anything else i need to follow...i've having issues setting up the site developed locally on server
and moreover i've developed the site with html/ and want the site on server without html/
does this make any impact in setting up ??
