I know this has to be simple, but I'm pulling my hair out trying to find a simple answer.
Example: elgg is installed in http://www.mydomain.com/subdirectory/
I want to type "http://www.mydomain.com" in my browser and see the elgg index page come up.
In the http://www.mydomain.com/subdirectory/.htaccess file, I added the "RewriteBase /subdirectory/", so it is installed fine. My site is on a Linux server with godaddy.com. What is the easiest/best way to do this?

You must log in to post replies. My suggestion, configure the apache server to get what you want.
The alias configure will attend your demand.
Thanks for the quick response. Is that the same as 'domain forwarding'? That's what I was thinking about doing, but then thought I better ask some pros.
If so, does that cause more of a performance hit?
