I'm coming from a clean install procedure, a difficult one, it seems.
I'm already at "home" view, but when I try to login with my admin account, I get this:
"The requested action (login) was not defined in the system."
any ideas?

Which Host, What OS, Which Elgg version,....
You provide too little information from you...
That makes it difficult to provide help.......
hello, i have the same problem. the elgg version is 1.5, os is livna (fedora). the http server is only a testserver, listen on localhost 127.0.0.1.
http (apache) is 2.2.9, mysql 5.0.51a and php 5.2.5.
the http-log displays:
[Mon Jun 29 19:17:45 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Page /elgg1.5/ generated in 0.24448895454407 seconds, referer: http://127.0.0.1/elgg1.5
i don't know what to do.
thanks for help!

Almost certainly either all the files didn't upload correctly or its a .htaccess problem.
The host and OS shouldn't be issues, right? Not a problem tho: Servage and Unix.
Latest elgg version.
Povey... those are the only options, please be more specific.
hello,
i've renamed the .htaccess, but the error is still there ;(
look at the answer of the Mic user, when i've installed elgg on the remote server i thought that the path for my installation was the one with www, but it's not!
Check the elgg_datalist entry in the database!!!
http://community.elgg.org/pg/forum/topic/625490/requested-action-login-was-not-defined/
Oh, another thing:
When people are stuck in this problem everyone gives the fault ONLY to the .htaccess or to a bad upload, but it's wrong! It could depend, as i wrote above, from the database entries that are not well configured!!
