I am trying to install Elgg on Debian. In Everything goes ok till i get to the database screen. I have setup a mysql DB and added the users. i have tested the connection from the CLI and it work fine but when Elgg tries to access it i get an error in the apache log that the host is unknown.
Any help appreciated.

You must log in to post replies. In most of the cases, using localhost will do fine. Hope you are using the same.
i have tried 127.0.0.1, Localhost, 192.168.10.x, and hostname of machine.
localhost is perfectly correct ... either you misspell it :-) ... or something goes wrong on the route apache/php ... so I would suggest to invoke phpmyadmin in your browser and check whether this works - http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ .... at least on my debian system this is installed and I guess that's default with the debian package ...
