The default widgets are for newly registering users. It wont work for existing users.
If you want to add widgets to your profile / dashboard, do it through your profile /dashboard itself.

Adding Widgets don't work everywhere.
wiktor, adding widgets works for other users.
Thus, the problem you are reporting has something to do with your specific configuration.
Can you provide more information?
For example, what browser are you using? Have you tested adding widgets with other browsers?
Do you have third party plugins installed? If so, disable them and test again to see if that solves the problem.
I installed this script on another server for testing. There, I hadn't problem, everything worked.
The Chrome also doesn't work.
Active plugin:
Blog 1.8, Bookmarks 1.8, Site-wide Categories 1.8, Custom Index 1.8, Elgg Developer Tools 1.0 , Elgg Developer Tools 1.0 , Diagnostics 1.8, Embed 1.8, File 1.8, Garbage Collector 1.5, Groups 1.8, HTMLawed 1.5, Invite Friends 1.8, Likes 1.8, Log Browser 1.8 , Log Rotate 1.5, Members 1.8, Message Board 1.8 , Messages 1.8, Notifications 1.7, Pages 1.8, Profile 1.8 , Reported Content 1.8, Search 1.8, Tag Cloud 1.0, The Wire 1.8, TinyMCE 1.8 , User Validation by Email 1.8, Zaudio 1.8 ,Tidypics 1.7.2,Videos 1.1.8 ,Seo Friendly Url 1.7
Try disabling all non core plugins and then check again.
And nothing. My website: http://profarmer.pl
Perhaps bugs in the system/installation
Looks like you must be serving your site through a proxy. That's breaking Elgg's javascript.
The line causing the problem is in /views/default/js/elgg.php:
elgg.config.wwwroot = '<?php echo elgg_get_site_url(); ?>';
I created a bug report for this: http://trac.elgg.org/ticket/4064
As mentioned in other post, the default widgets for new users is not working for me too in www.iyaffle.com .
So the proxy is the problem for me too? How can I verify the same?
ITs really a pain to add the widgets manually to all the new users. :(
I installed this script on: http://wiktor.redhosti.pl/portal2 <- This is the same server and work.
I have a report and wait?
@Purus - this has nothing to do with default widgets. You cannot even add a widget manually on wiktor12348's site. If you are still having problems with that, dig up the previous thread and post your status there.
@wiktor12348 - right how you have three choices:
- Previous
- 1
- 2
- Next
