I mentioned in a previous thread about my situation with my VPS Level 3 @ Hostgator. Found here
http://community.elgg.org/mod/groups/topicposts.php?topic=816559&group_guid=179063
It may seem I found unsettling news. My site is opening 5-10php.ini which are all consuming 5%-66% CPU. Is this normal for Elgg - or - is it a server configuration problem? I'm not sure if it did in the past but my site has been on JustHost, and HostGator shared hosting and been fine. Just the VPS is different.
Many thanks for your suggestions, advice or help.

You must log in to post replies. That's perfectly normal. Apache runs with several http threads in parallel and each http thread will start it's own php thread when needed. These processes will only consume CPU resources for a very short time for each http request though.
