you can add js in views\default\page\elements\head.php
try this!
Just extend the header view and add the code.
Hmm.. I just did a teeny weeny 0.5 minute code test - added alert("JS @ Footer"); to the footer and yep - it works ok for me here.. ; -) It did not break my new Elgg.1.8.1 ;-P And header will work just as nicely and easily too..
it WORKED!
But i had to add the code to the TOP of the header file!
I don;t know why!
