I can't understand - where I can set my timezone. I don't have permision to server settings. And I have another problem - where can I set my time format - from 5pm to 17:00 for example and I hope this function will be in new elgg versions.

You must log in to post replies.I don't believe there is a timezone setting in elgg, it uses your server settings. By default I don't think Elgg needs timezones as the default friendly time is "x days ago", "x hours ago", "Yesterday" etc which are timezone independent.
If you want to change the way the time is displayed look at this discussion: http://community.elgg.org/pg/forum/topic/829820/change-friendly-time-format/
If you don't have the permission to set the timezone in the server's php.ini, you can add the setting to Elgg's settings.php in the engine subfolder. Add the line
date_default_timezone_set('MY_TIME_ZONE');
at the top of settings.php (of course with the correct time zone defined).
No one knows the pain timezone settings of like Event Calendar users do.. ;O
http://php.net/manual/en/timezones.php has got all yr techie details.
google "php timezone" will turn up lots of refs - sometimes ths php timezone thang coud become almost a science ;-)
Here is the thing that concerns me about this topic and it is this comment
"I don't have permision to server settings."
if you don't have server rights do you really have the right web host?
I need this because in place where show user statistic shows time when last time login and user from..., thanks to iionly and mybe I somehow can change server settings, but I don't know where, thats way I was asking here.
Looks like Matt wrote this just for you
