I made a change to the installer to catch people setting relative paths for the data path. That causes really weird bugs.
Anyway, the change is committed to the 1.8 branch of Elgg. I'm looking for people with experience installing Elgg on Windows to try it out since I do all of my development on Linux. I'm assuming that people installing on Windows have data paths like "C:\some\dir" or "D:\some\dir\". I'm trying to prevent people from typing in something like "data".
Here is the link: https://github.com/Elgg/Elgg/zipball/1.8 or you can clone the github repo and checkout the 1.8 branch.

You must log in to post replies.Tried it with xampp and got the site running no problem, but I am not sure of what you was trying to prevent
Thanks for testing. I had added a test and wanted to make sure that it would pass on Windows. If anyone else tests this, please post here. Thanks.
I have also tried it with xampp without any problems.
I used the EasyPHP without any problem! More in wampp have to make some settings to be able to install!
