i've seen some older plugins that are to allow multiple css themes to be used on one site..
none of them are compatible with 1.8.
i've seen a demo of a vazco plugin that appears to work, as yet i haven't located it on the vazco site for download or closer inspection.
i'm wondering if there is a recognised (simple) way of altering elgg 1.8+ to support 2 or more css.php files?
my purpose in doing this is to code a css3 special fx style for my site and a fallback lightweight style for visitors who's pc is not up to the processing needed to show the page.
anyone?
thanks

You must log in to post replies.which older plugin does that ?
i have *every* plugin ever published here @my pc
gimme a hint quick !!
i now see you have already commented on this here:
http://community.elgg.org/discussion/view/860159/is-the-theme-picker-on-elggcom-available-for-download-and-use
so you've seen the other incomplete plugins that exist, such as (possibly):
http://community.elgg.org/plugins/384480/0.1/css-theme-switcher
and the demo on vazcos site?
http://dev.vazco.eu/
Ismayil's theme, seashells, had the ability to change some css properties on the fly
try
if ( browser is css3 special fx style )
include css3_special_fx_style_css.php
else
include non_css3_special_fx_style_css.php
something like this is what you want..
no need for any ' special elgg code way '
the community css-theme-switcher
i believe shoudl work with a little bit more code from you
for whatever little custom code stuff is needed.
@ura
That's what mobilize does, load a css file if certain conditions are met.
@dhrup & gillie:
ok yes, thanks. so i can use mobilize's logic for that.. in combination with some kind of timing script and maybe prompt with links for people to select a quality level... anyone know of any better solutions?
