The url for example for your own pages would be pages/owner/<your username>. So, for adding a menu item linking to the pages of the logged in user you would have provide the url
$url = 'pages/owner/' . elgg_get_logged_in_user_entity()->username;
as the url of the menu item. For blogs, etc. it will work in the same way.
oh nice so
$http://sitename.com='pages/owner/' . elgg_get_logged_in_user_entity()->username;
or
$sitename.com='blog/owner/' . elgg_get_logged_in_user_entity()->username;
is that right or?
i notice there are some spaces do i leave spaces to exactly how you have put it?
so in the admin add menu bit i just add
http://sitename.com='pages/owner/' . elgg_get_logged_in_user_entity()->username;
thanks for the reply sorry i am still confused even though you have just told me exactly what to do lol
You cannot insert code through the admin panel menu configuration. You need to create a plugin and add the code there. If you want to add it to the site menu you can just call the function elgg_register_menu_item() inside the yourplugin_init function.
ah i see so this is not easy to do : (
is there any plugin to do this?
@UK Menu builder ?
oh lol will look for it : ) also i am sure i need to know the url's for eg: sitename/blog/mine or sitename/blog/owner etc so people can view there own pages blogs etc
i figured it out lol
http://sitename.com/blog/owner/username
thoug how would you make this so it goes to there username? just owner?
i could add this to menu and just put the link above with owner no name?
Menubuilder can do this
menu builder is quite difficult for me to use well very difficult if i am honest, i am sure other people have the need to let people view there own blogs will anyone make a plugin for this? : )
