I'd like to prioritize the default elements of the sidebar , but cannot find where this is defined. I know for a plugin you can extend the sidebar view and give priority, but all default sidebar elements have prio 500, so a plugin is either on top of all, or below the default elements.

By default, menu items sorts by name.
Override it via 'section':
'section' => 'A-name' have priority then 'section' => 'B-name'
Also, you can try this hook:
Thanks RvR, but that does not solve the issue. I would like to re arrange priority of the default sidebar menu's just by assigning them a priority of my choice. Then it will be easy to decide which menu comes first.
