Well, the admin login is the same for the regular user login. So using a captch woul be a very good idea

I think @rjcalifornia speaks of using normal captcha plugin
i have all elgg captcha plugins none of them ask admin for captcha not sure about users i do not think they have to either i would like this type of plugin RJ can make it am sure ^_^
If none of the captcha plugins are working for it's likely that you are doing something wrong
I just got the idea hehe He wants an extra layer of security for the log in form. Kinda like wordpress. Add this captcha before logging in.
yes : ) can we do that or is this option not available at this time? yes exactly like wordpress admin has to enter captcha to login and so do users mainly i want it for admin login : ), is this possible? @Matt Beckett
so your saying we can do this?
The captcha plugins I know of will only add a captcha algorithm to be available. Elgg core only uses captchas on the account registration and lost password pages by default. If you also want a captcha on the login page you would need to modify the Elgg login view for captchas to be used. For reference you can study the Elgg core register view and modify the login view accordingly (and best put your modified view in a separate plugin that will override the core login view).
But it won't be possible to show the captcha input only to admins on the login page. It's either all users or none. How should Elgg know it's an admin who wants to log in before he has logged in?
Increasing security is also possible simply by choosing a long, long, long and very complex admin password. The password should include numbers, capital letters and special characters. If you have a good password it's most likely much safer than relying on any captcha because sooner or later any captcha algorithm will be cracked.
i see all users would be best including admin login so all logins, ok i got yah use 30 character password with # in them hackers hate # in passwords ^_^ ; )
