I love elgg but there is something that I cannot do with it that makes me want to delete it and give up.
I need a Tiny MCE (full features) so I can edit my pages the way I like and I also need that when I want to insert an image, I can get it from my computer and not have to enter a URL to get it. It's not convenient at all.
So far I have found plugins that could do one but not the other. I have tried several configurations of different plugins and still cannot get it to work the way I need it to work. Any suggestions on how I can have a full Tiny MCE with the possibility to upload images from my computer?

It took me about 30 minutes to include an image upload feature into tinymce. If enough people want it, i will create a plugin for it, with the magic name "tinymce-with-image-upload". Just having fun here :-)
I'd be interested @Gerard! My last attempt at it was a couple of major versions ago and it involved turning TinyMCE's js files into Elgg-aware PHP and making the button call the embed dialogue, which was not the best idea I've ever had - very unmaintainable, so I never finished it.
IN tinymce site there is a plugin which can be brought for few dollers which solve your problem of uploading pic
@gerard kanters how did you fix the tinymce image upload issue?
@ Gerard Kanters please create this.

no need really, the justboil.me tinymce plugin can be setup within 15 minutes with minimal text editing skills.
@Krischan, how do I do the following in Elgg
have a look at the examples for tinymce3 integration on the justboil.me site.
The settings for the editor in elgg are under mod/tinymce/views/default/js/tinymce.php
The plugin itself need to be copied in /mod/tinymce/vendor/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/
@cim, take a look at this thread. http://community.elgg.org/discussion/view/1113093/issues-with-the-editor.
Adding data to htmlawed schemes allows pasting of pictures (64Kb limit default, which can be stretched as well).
