I am working with elgg 1.6 and I need to implement the functionality of personalized theme for every user.. The theme should change based on the user.
Please advice on how to implement this feature...

If you just need css changes only, you can allow users to select their own css files > Save this preference > and then load the css files using elgg_load_css() based on the user preference.
I imagine you're going to have a tough time getting advice for Elgg 1.6 :(
wow 1.6, never used that. this feature is easy on 1.8 ;)
1.6? You should upgrade at least to elgg 1.7.x for security reasons

Didn't noticed you were on elgg 1.6. Staying on 1.6 is not adviced. Better upgrade your system to 1.8.18.
The above API is not available in Elgg 1.6
Better I have to upgrade then :(
