I'm interested in a profile content-focused experience for the user.
Basically I want the user, when they log in, to be directed to their profile editing page.
Also, I would like the profile urls to be stored in the root directory and would also like to be able to set SEO like meta tags on user's profiles automatically.

You must log in to post replies.Ok, figured out how to redirect the user to the profile based on the forums:
replace
//forward($forward_url);
forward("pg/profile/$username");
in login.php
What I need actually is for the user's profile page to be stored as an actual html page on the site, in order to show up higher in google search results.
is there a way to do that?
thanks

That is not the correct way of doing that.

Might be a good start
That won't help anything as far as google is concerned, and it shows that you don't really have a grasp of how Elgg works. I suggest starting with the basics and dissecting some of the plugins and tutorials.
Thanks Matt.
I installed the login director plugin and it works great!
What do you suggest I read for user profile SEO topics?
