Hello,
I've moved elgg site (1.7.1) to new serwer and I can't configure data directory. All path are good, but there are no avatars or pictures from tidypics. I've used /upgrade.php, it didn't worked. All elgg functionalities, like login etc are working really nice, the only problem is with this data directory.
My site is availble at www.giramondo.pl

You must log in to post replies.Be sure you followed this document closely: http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/Duplicate_Installation
Check to make sure the data directory has the correct permissions for your server to read from it: http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/Installation#2._Create_a_data_folder
Checking the PHP error log will probably give you a clue what exactly is failing (can't find the file, doesn't have permission to open it).
Also could be a timezone issue, if the setting is different on the new server. Reasons for images to fail showing: http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/No_images.
Thank you for help, I'll check it out today.
Have you got any simple, service PHP scrpit, that could check the real path to images? For examle with will display current path to any image. That would help me a lot. I'm sure in 99% that the path is ok, but maybe I'm wrong... It's because both servers are diffrent.
I still can't solve this problem.
Maybe you have small PHP script for displaying single avatar with path - then I would be able to check it step by step??
I really need help - my portal - www.giramondo.pl doesn't work for two weeks...
Check again your timezone: http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/No_images#Different_timezone
Check your server's error logs (talked about it already)
If Elgg does not load the files then a script won't help you much either.
Have you checked the timezone settings? Is the timezone on the new server the same as on the old server?
Are permissions, ownership and group of the data directory (including all subdirectories and files) correct?
Have you updated the database entries as described in http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/Duplicate_Installation and run upgrade.php again afterwards?
