oh yea... i want this.
Installed Oembed on v2.3 and completely clueless how this can generate previews of link is text output. There is high probability of me using this somehow wrong and/or now comprehending how it is actually utilized. Does this even effect the River Wire input box? Does it only effect longtext? Is there some way of making it effect all text out put in including plaintext?
update: Working in blog yet Oembed doesn't generate river preview of link. My goal is getting rid of theWire Link Preview since it conflicts with thewire edit. Is the wire considered plaintext output?
Probably not.
Default yes, only affects output/longtext
Yes, register the plugin hook to also affect other views

Hi,
Does anybody know whether there has been a change in the way that Youtube handles the video embeds?
For the last several days, the embedded videos (in discussions and river) are displayed in much smaller size. This is despite the fact that in the source code the following is specified (using Oembed v.1.2.1).
style="border:none;overflow:hidden;width:1280;height:720
Interesting thing is that the previously embedded videos are still displayed in the large size as intended. The issue is only with the ones embedded in the last few days. Meanwhile no changes on any plugins etc.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Best Regards
Updating Embed vendor on the latest release will fix this issue ;)
@İşöğüçı
will be fixed in the next release.
Thanks @Nikolai Shcherbin for the solution
Nikolai Shcherbin, Jerome Bakker, Thank you.
I think same youtube embed problem. I think youtube change something again. There is a new Embed vendor release (Embed 4.3.2). I place it replace it under vendor of Oembed. But it breaks down. Post with embedded youtube video not display. Also activity not display. Where do you think I make mistake?
I tried to solve this problem before I come here ask.
Thank you
Embed 4.x isn't compatible with oEmbed.
The latest Embed 3.4.15 is fixed this issue.
In future, use composer to update vendors instead of upload it manually and make new post here.
@Nikolai Thank you! I am not sure with composer. I have never used. Maybe too late. I will try 3.4.15
I replaced the embed directory under Oembed manually. I am not familiar with composer. I tried Embed 3.4.15 did not solve my youtube embed problem. I checked many times to see no mistake. But same result. Maybe I make mistake. I will wait other people. If they have same problem. Thank you.
Latest vendor's version is fixed this issue.
1 - Have YT videos worked on your site before?
2 - What happens if you insert an iframe any YT video directly to a blog post? Is the video displayed?
@Nikolai I frustrated yesterday. Because it did not work. Today I tested with a new post. It worked! I did not re-update software.
I don't know what I did wrong yesterday. I had flushed the Elgg cache and upgraded from admin. Since yesterday I did not change code. Maybe problem with the cache of my browser. But what does new post has with new posts.
Now it works. No problem. Thank you Nikolai!
