For your issue, but i think u are no longer interessted after 623 days, but for others, here comes the solution, inofficial, at your own risk.
Instructions:
Goto the plugin folder, by default: /mod/footer/footer_rename
There is a file called "manifest.xml".
Open it with your favorite editor and replace the whoole content with the one in the following textbox.
