  • thanks for the feature of admin approval for new groups - i will test this asap. :)

  • so i just tested this in elgg 2.1 and found that after i enabled the option in the group plugin to allow non admins to create groups and then signed in 'as' a non admin, then clicked to create a group - i am told that only admins can view that page. i have disabled my theme and other plugins that i thought might cause that page to be blocked for non admins, but it made no difference. anyone know why this is occurring?

So in Groups you set "Who can create new groups?" to "Logged in users" and in Group Tools "Site administrators need to approve new groups" to "Yes"?

I tried this on my test site and didn't get the error message. And the normal user could create the group

  • yes, that's the outcome. it's possible i over-rode the routing for the add new group page and forgot.. i will look, thanks.

  • so i just found that if i disable group_tools latest version and my site's theme and any plugins i know of that interact with groups, then non admins can create new groups. but if i enable group_tools, then non admins are unable to view the group creation page. i don't know any more than that presently.

  • I have 3 admin in my elgg. I have enabled the new groups require admin approval settings.

My issue is that the Group approval mail is going to only 1 out of the 3 admins. Rest of the admins are not getting notified.

I have created a ticket for the same: https://github.com/ColdTrick/group_tools/issues/112

  • Any help for the query in my previous comment?

If the admins have set their notification settings to not receive any notifications, then they won't

  • OK. Now I get that. Yes, the notification was off for the other 2 admins.

    Thanks @Jerome
