I am pleased to announce that thanks to Social Business World, the first ever Elgg Camp Italy will take place May 20th - 22nd, 2016 in Montelabbate, Italy!
Through the sponsorship of Social Business World and The Elgg Foundation, many core Elgg developers, Elgg implementors, and users will be present. Michele outlines the details and goals for ECI16:
[This] will be...a triple track event where three groups of people - developers, users, manufacturers - will be able to not only meet each other and share great time together but also actively participate in building a better community and give forward.
Read the full details and the preliminary schedule in the announcement on SBW, and be sure to register ASAP! We'll post updates to the schedule and speakers as the details are finalized. Hope to see you there!

Waiting at the gate for my last flight...
Checked into the hotel and had a quick lunch with the ColdTrick guys and Juho - thanks for lunch and beer, Juho. Looking forward to a few days in Italy with Elgg devs and Social Business World.
I would like to see photos of this famous event and developers together haha
I made it!
Hi guys,
I'm italian and I'm currently developing a site with elgg and community plugins. The site is not ready to be published, but if someone want to see my job just check to https://sibonane.com/ . I saw this post only now, I regret not being able to join your event. I would like to stay informed about upcoming events.
the 1st day of elgging in italy is complete! i gave my talk on applying holistic balance to software and social system engineering.. i did ok fitting 1 week's worth of information into less than an hour! :)
my thanks to michele and the socialbusinessworld.org team for their warm hearted support of elgg, plus everyone participating here for everything they are bringing to help elgg too.
i am looking forward to integrating in ureka.org some of what i am learning here and the new features in elgg 2.x+. grazie!
Someone post pictures! Or do a Facebook live stream.
yeah! someone please post some pictures!
I feel hung over, but I wasn't even drinking...
i think video will be made available on youtube of the presentations from friday - maybe once they have been edited to improve watchability. today we have the 'elgg hackathon' on the beach, with discussion of how to improve elgg and some common plugins like tidypics.. i'm sure others will let you know how that goes when they are ready.
i have taken some pictures from today's session and probably michele will upload many more when he has a chance to (he is very busy helping and organising things here).
Oh God! this was not an event, it was a vacation spa on the beach! hahaha
;) that was the only time spent anywhere near the beach here during the time so far - most of our time has been inside, giving talks, sharing information/skills and some practical coding. it is a pleasant location, so why not enjoy it?! :)
Actually you're right!
wish were there...
BTW, are the Elgg caps second hand? :-)
i wish i was there....
Just created a wall about Elgg Camp 2016
here's my talk from this elgg camp - an intro to holistic balance in social systems.. i cleaned up the audio and video from the streamed version and put the original slides on top so they can be seen clearly. it would be great if someone would let me know if there's a better quality version video somewhere. thanks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njc3U6icUlU
I am home now, listening to rain and thunder. It was an amazing weekend, feeling revitalized. Thank you, Michele, for your endless hospitality.
I'm still traveling. Just packing up to leave Rome. In one epic day of walking we did the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Pauls Basilica, the Papal Tombs, Vatican Square, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Colosseum. Who needs multiple days? :)
I will be sending you my assessment of ElggCamp, Michele, but until then thank you. As IK said, the hospitality was endless.
I'm still very dissapointed I couldn't be there.
Threw away a plain ticket because the Belgian public sector seems to be striking once a month (I'm chainded to the office in case of strikes)
Good to hear it was so good.
I did not make it to the 2016 elgg event. However, I have been watching YouTube videos of 2016 elgg event and noticed that the sound and video quality was not very nice except the video for ura soul. Hope next time someone can take high quality videos for the rest of the elgg community member who could not make it to the future events.
Congrats to all who took their time to host, organize, sponsor, present ideas, code, listen, and travel.
i processed the video of my talk to clean up the sound and video. maybe there is a higher quality version that wasn't streamed to the web live/directly?
michele informed me that the videos that have been uploaded to youtube are the highest quality that is available unfortunately.
Does anyone have the group pics we took on Saturday?
@Beck24 - here's one of them: https://socialbusinessworld.org/photos/image/666185/img-20160520-192033min
