This is alpha software. Please do not use it in production.
The Elgg team is excited to announce the immediate availability of Elgg 2.0.0-alpha.2 for download. This pre-release of Elgg 2.0 is meant for early testers and plugin developers who want to get a head start upgrading plugins to make sure they are ready when 2.0.0 final is released.

Just a note, the container permissions hook change mentioned above is not in the release. This was accepted by accident and removed shortly after. Something similar may be in the final 2.0 release.
A mini milestone not mentioned is that nearly all "pages" now have associated resource views and those views mainly use $vars to pass URL data in. In other words the "resources/*" views are mostly stable in design.
https://www.elgg.org/getelgg.php?forward=elgg-2.0.0-alpha.2.zip says "Sorry. We could not find the page that you requested."
When you are contemplating releasing the stable version?
@Fernando, when all the issues in https://github.com/Elgg/Elgg/milestones/Elgg%202.0.x are resolved.
Please, can someone post a working download link? Thanks for your help.
I have fixed the download link. Please try it out.
Something to note: This version of the release contains Elgg installed as a composer dependency. For the most part, you shouldn't notice any difference in functionality, however, I want to explore releasing all subsequent versions of Elgg like this in order to make site-local modifications easier. More on that to come...
Very excited to see the new version -- keep up the good work, everyone!
