Hi Mick,
Will look at that image bug today. I would love to add a registration feature but that would be a couple of days of work and would need to be funded by a paying client.
Would you be interested if we can draw some funding for this?
Can you message me with some idea of costing. We are looking at possibly requiring more plugins...
Just for the record, it turned out that Mick had turned off the file plugin, which is required for the form plugin to upload images. I'll add that requirement to the docs for the next release.

@Kevin Jardine i am waiting for your comment.
@jon pipitone I think it can be done with a plugin, overriding the dashboard, adding your HTML code. I have done that before with the profilepage, making modifications on /views/default/canvas/layouts/widgets.php/
have you tried the 'Doodle' plugin?
One of these is what your looking for. I don't know if they need any updating for 1.7 though.

It's being worked on. I expect to see something on this in the next few months. Elgg 1.5 is the priority right now.
So, we will have to wait to upgrade our 0.9 installation. Anyway, we have a development server with latest Elgg to see how it goes. Thank you so much for the info.
There are 2 plugins recently released to make that migration from Elgg 0.9 to Elgg 1.5, still in early stage. You can take a look at them:
Migration 0.9 -> 1.5 plugin for all data (0.8.0)
Please, share your experiences with that and tell us how they are working. I hope we will have a good migration procedure in a little time. :-)
