Hi Pierre-Étienne,
The bug in TinyMCE you refer to has been fixed for Elgg 1.5. In fact, Elgg 1.5 allows people to turn off the HTML editor interactively for each text input field. This is important because not all input fields are for HTML input, especially in the form plugin admin interface.
Kevin, I'm trying to get my head around all the ways in which your plugin might be put to good use. The standard form plugin is pretty easy to understand. But can you give some concrete examples of ways that the flexprofile and flexgroup plugins have been used?
